Have any of the creators looked at combining the power of this with the Data.gov tool (which is extremely broken but has potential)? I've been looking for methods of putting together a user tool that would allow trending of government data in real time in order to enhance civil discourse (to answer questions such as: has employment being going up or down in Iowa in the last 10 years, with statistical tool overlays).
Began down this road and have rough costs on creating a tool. The main risk would be gathering the data (of course) and having people experienced in FOIA requests for missing data and to what extent a strong legal team would be required for this effort. It also would have to be funded somehow, even it remains a non-profit organization (such as payments for premium services.
Not looking for profit, looking for non-partisan data and analysis to be readily available to the people. That is, data pulled from FOIA and
data.gov that also has statistical overlays and/or professional blind analysis in order to provide insight into some of the most challenging issues we face as Americans.
Cheers,
Ryan
