Ratha Yatra 2014 ???

Hare Krishna Dear RY Family,

   Hope you all are doing well and enjoying the summer. :)

I'm not sure how to write this and put my words in a very respectful and loving way but ill try to articulate to the best of my ability.

As you all know that Festival of India is fast approaching in 6 weeks and knowing that we are 5 months behind in our RY group Planning :) , I was wondering where our teams stand and what is the current situation with the current team members and their respective departments .

Who is in the team and what are they upto ?

What has happened ? are Individuals working on their own ? Thats really great and kudos to all those team members who have taken up the responsibility to still perform their services for Lord Jaganatha on their own.

I am a little worried because I personally don't think I can perform that well without the loving encouragement and support of my very dear Ratha Yatra family.

I need all of you :) and im sure most of you do as well.

Here is why :

1) It is nothing like sitting together and chanting :)

2) It is nothing like we all playing silly games embarrassing each other and bond even stronger,

3) It is nothing like brainstorming together and coming up with the most innovative ideas .

4) It is nothing like praying together when calamities / challanges hit us .

5) It is nothing like Post RY parties,where we end up chilling all night celebrating the intense planning and hard work and congratulating each other .

6) It is nothing like standing in front of Jaganath and looking into his eyes and thanking him whole heartedly for taking care of us all through the entire planning and helping us finally achieve our goals .

7) It is nothing like Keshav sitting with all of us encouraging us with Kind words no matter what he goes through ,

Now on that note think about how he has been so encouraging all the time 24/7 constantly on calls with one or the other or constantly engaging in some sort of service.He keeps going no matter what goes on with him.

But Prabhus do we really need someone to baby sit us all the time .

( sorry if that was rude) ..

We all need to make initiative at some point and get this going .

I know most of you all have some or the other very great services in the temple.

For some of the devotees like myself / Tarun it is RY that makes us feel like a part of some very special service to the Lordships.

I don't know what else to write but

Here is my Update :

Still planing to do Parade Volunteers : unless something major has changed..

- contacting all volunteers

- Radha Bhakti and Keshav will attend police meeting on July 6th.

Deity Tent Decoration :

- Will match the Colour scheme of the tent with Jaganaths tent .

- Planning to combine Bhajan kutir and deity tent

Thanks for the timely wake up call! Hopefully the areas that have been ignored will be kick-started as time is indeed running out.

I've heard rumors that RY meetings have been indefinitely cancelled, if this is the case it would have been nice if there was some discussion or at the least communication to this effect.

Are we even having a launch date this year? There are many other unanswered questions and some form of communication in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Haribol guys! 

A little Hospitality update for you:

• We have been distributing invitations for RY since October. It seems that only HH Candramauli Swami is confirmed at the moment. Hopefully other sannyasis will come forward
• Dravida Prabhu and Krsnanandini Prabhu are confirmed (KN Prabhu is 95% confirmed)
• Malati Prabhu  - TBD
• Quick correction from Vandita's last email - our police meeting is scheduled for June 13th
• We are looking at short term apartment rentals as well as hotel partnerships 
• Police permit not yet received but on track  to receive it soon
• Invitations were distributed at FOI and Sadhu Sanga, as well as in Mayapur at ILS and in Vrndavana
• Madhava Prabhu is confirmed but his ticket is yet to be booked

Those are the major updates to date! Let me know if you have any questions.

Questions we have:

• Promotions team - do we have new posters this year? Also, would it be possible to have letterhead?
• Volunteers team - do we have a date for our volunteer meet and greet?  
  
• Vijay - what's the deadline to get you signage requirements?
• Keshav - when can we submit expense reports? Is it the same template as last year? 
• A&C team - I think they are, but is the bus tour confirmed this year?

Just to clarify based on my communication with Chaitanya-Nimai 3 weeks back I was under the impression that he was working alone this year as he did not mention your involvement at that point . 

Therefore I would like to reiterate that it is important for there to be open communication between all departments. In the past this was achieved through meetings.

                      Discussions are always good for an organisation and its excellent that we have started it.

A big HARI BOL for Vandita,Vijay & Radha Bhakti Prabhus.  RATHAYATRA 2014 KI JAI...SRILA PRABHUPADA KIA JAIIIIIIII

 Puneet prabhu is always a part of Volunteer Team & is coordinating the team. 

Vandita is also helping to get more Volunteers as she knows the people from previous years Rathayatra.

Update from Volunteer Team :

1)Postings have been done to different websites.

2) Emails have been sent to previous yrs volunteers .

3) Most likely the Orientation will be on 5th July but we will confirm it.

4) From this weekend we are putting up a Volunteers Table at the temple.

5) I will request the promotion team if they can start putting posters & distributing cards so that more people would know about the festival.Which will eventually pull more Volunteers.

6) Lastly if Keshav prabhu can start announcing at the Temple that will be great.
