Information under RTI Act 2005

Dear Sir,

 

Most of our members and other colleagues in India who are Gynaecologist & Registered Medical Practitioner are registered or applying as genetic clinic/ultrasound clinic/imaging centre under PNDT Act.

Minimum requirement for registration as genetic clinic/ultrasound clinic/imaging centre are

As per Act 1996

(1)     A Gynaecologist with adequate experience in pre-natal diagnostic procedures (should have performed at least 20 procedures under supervision of a gynaecologist experienced in the procedure which is going to be carried out, for example chorionic villi biopsy, amniocentesis, cordocentesis and others indicated at B above as equipment). 

(2)     A Radiologist or Registered Medical Practitioner for carrying out ultrasonography. The required experience shall be 100 cases under supervision of a similarly qualified person experienced in these techniques.

As per Amendment 2003

Rule 3 (3) (1) Any person having adequate space and being or employing
(a) Gynaecologist having experience of performing at least 20 procedures in chorionic villi aspirations per vagina or per abdomen, chorionic villi biopsy, amniocentesis, cordocentesis foetoscopy, foetal skin or organ biopsy or foetal blood sampling etc. under supervision of an experienced gynaecologist in these fields,   
OR

(b)    a Sonologist, Imaging Specialist, Radiologist OR Registered Medical Practitioner having Post Graduate degree or diploma OR six months training OR one year experience in sonography or image scanning,  OR

(c)     A medical geneticist.              may set up a genetic clinic/ultrasound clinic/imaging centre

Gynaecologist & Registered Medical Practitioner are asked to give 6 month experience certificate issued by Radiologist at the time of registration as well as at time of Renewal of registration under PNDT Act as  genetic clinic/ultrasound clinic/imaging centre by AA.

 

You are requested to kindly furnish the following information under RTI Act 2005

 

1. Gynaecologist & Registered Medical Practitioner who are doing Ultrasound long before this Act and registered under PC PNDT Act and are more than 5 year experienced. They are fulfilling one year experience in sonography as required under Act. Whether they have to produce six months training by Radiologist at time of Renewal of Registration under PC PNDT Act?

2. Gynaecologist who possess required qualification under act as above, whether they have to produce six months training by Radiologist at time of Registration/Renewal of Registration under PC PNDT Act ?

3. Under which provision of law the ID Proof of patient is required before doing sonography? Whether it is possible in case of emergency?               (As required by AA of Gwalior photo copy enclosed)
