I suggest an option to do a global search -- that is an option to
search across all pads from any page in FocusPad.

One of my most requested features has been searching. I definitely
plan on implementing it, but I am not yet sure when. Note that the web
app has search.

The web app only searches across the pad you are in. By global search
I mean searching across all pads.

Ok, thanks for explaining that, it should have been obvious to me.

The current search feature just scrolls to the next occurrence of the search text in the current pad, so it cannot be easily extended to search multiple pads. I would need to go with a different UI, where you get a list of search results and then click on to go the relevant pad and page. This would be a better UI anyway, and this is something that I have planned to do for a while. After I add support for "dated pages", better search is next in the feature queue, for the web and iPhone.
