Tony,

I've been using the Schedule Action feature of FocusPad with great
success, but encountered a glitch I hope you can fix.

I often schedule tasks to move to a 'Today' pad on a particular date
to help keep me focused (not exactly AF, but WTH). Yesterday (Aug 19)
I scheduled several tasks to move to the 'Today' pad today (Aug 20).
None of them made the switch. On the website, though, the dates for
action are tomorrow (Aug 21). The dates on my iphone are Aug 20. Any
thoughts?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff.

Sorry you are having issues. There are several different bugs in this area, and you might be running into one or more of them:
  • If you schedule an action using the Tomorrow/Week/Month buttons, the time is incorrectly retained. So if you schedule it at 4pm, it won't trigger until 4pm on the scheduled date.
  • The web site does not respect the local time zone, so the dates sometimes do not match the iPhone.
Both of these issues will be fixed in the next release, which is coming soon (it is in beta test now). If you think you have found a new issue, let me know.

Hey Tony,

Thanks for your reply. Just so I understand: at 11:55pm I can use the
date wheel to schedule an action for tomorrow and it will convert 5
minutes later at midnight on my iphone, whereas if I use the Tomorrow/
Week/Month buttons it will not convert until 11:55pm the next day?

Is this independant of the website, then, or does the conversion on
the iphone take place according to website time? I'm in Central
Daylight Savings time, US.

For the current release, the website or the iPhone will handle the scheduled action, depending on whichever "gets to it" first. So that will also influence when the action fires.

For the next release (version 2.0), the web site will always handle the scheduled actions if you are using syncing. This makes it more predictable.
