Hi there,

First off. I'm LOVING 1.2 with multiple Pads and Scheduled Tasks.
Brilliant! Thanks :o)

Now, just a few snags I'm encountering / thoughts offered. All with
version 1.2.1.1

1. I sometimes find that Scheduled Tasks to move from one Pad to
another are occurring multiple times, so I get more than one copy of
the same Task moved on the same day. Sometimes trying to delete one of
the unwanted copies results in a crash. I suspect this is something to
do with syncing with the web app as I usually see the Network Spinny
at the same time?

2. I often find that FocusPad crashes when I've manually moved a Task
from one Pad to another and I immediately press the Back Arrow to get
back to my list of Pads. I suspect this is something to do with
syncing with the web app as I usually see the Network Spinny at the
same time?

3. I'd prefer that when I manually move a Task to a different Pad that
I stay in the original Pad rather than following the moved Task. If
others prefer the current behaviour, then perhaps this can be an App
Setting?

I hope this feedback is useful. Thanks again for version 1.2.

Hi Mark,

This multiple copies problem almost certainly is related to syncing. I will find a way to stop this from happening.

I am not sure what is causing the crash when deleting one of the copies. I will look at the code and see what I can find. Perhaps with some luck I can even reproduce your situation.

I just tried to reproduce this by following the above steps, but I had no luck. It is probably, as you suggest, a timing issue. I will keep working on it.

I totally agree with this. It will either be a setting, or I will change the behavior.

I hope this feedback is useful. Thanks again for version 1.2.

I just deployed an update to the web site that should fix the "double tickler" problem.

Mark sent me some crash reports, and I was able to find and fix the source of his crashes. I will soon be releasing an update to the app that fixes them. Should fix a lot of the random crashes folks are having.

Note that the updated version of the app will have the following change: after moving or copying a todo, you will not be taken to the page that the todo was moved or copied to. There are two reasons for this: (1) in my opinion this is better behavior (2) it makes solving the instability issue mentioned above much easier. If you think this is a bad change, let me know ASAP.

I prefer not moving as well, so will be happy with the change.

I've just seen duplication of a task when moved by schedule. Is this
because the source task was created before the app update? Or is the
problem not fixed?

If you are still seeing the issue, then the problem is not fixed. Thinking about it, there might have been a fairly obvious scenario I overlooked. Did you go to the website first and then later the iPhone on the date the todo was scheduled to be moved?

Thanks Tony,

No. I didn't visit the website first. I opened the iPhone app at the
start of the day and there were two copies of a scheduled task.

If it happens again then I'll let you know.

Mark,

Thanks for letting me know. If you or anyone else does see this issue, let me know the circumstances and I will see if I can resolve it.
