Some of you guys will have a midterm on wed so I assume u guys will study for that tomorrow.  I sort of planned something at 6 tomorrow.
If we have a meeting tomorrow I would like to leave before 6.
So this week we just need to put together all the samples we need for sonics testing for Friday.
We also need to set aside and  prepare samples for SEM.
I have time on Thursday to prepare the samples for SEM.

What's the plan guys?

We Still need to start the paper also.

I thought you guys sent all the samples to be tested. What else needs to be made for the void testing?

We only sent the samples that will be wire bonded for thermal testing.  We will hand carry the sonix samples and materials for the eutectic bonding on Friday.  I'm pretty sure we have enough samples for the acoustic microscopy, so we really just need to get them together and bring them with us.

I've started working on the poster with Will and Max from the other group. I'll update you guys Wednesday? Yeah, I want to study for my midterms tomorrow if possible.

  • How about; meeting up before and after Class Wednesday?  (i know some of you guys can't make the before due to class; but we can pick up/organize what else needs to be made or fixed)  After class we can start discussing the paper and finish up what we didn't do before.

  • We can make the SEM mounts on Thursday and Grind/Polish Friday/Weekend?

  • Did anyone ever get an SEM time slotted for us?

What do you guys think about the above plan?

We have always had our group meeting scheduled for today. There is no good reason not to meet today.

The only reason we are suggesting moving the meeting to Wednesday was:

* Half of this group has Two Midterms tomorrow that we would like extra time to study for.

And the things that need to get done are:

- Gathering the rest of the samples for void testing (from what I read above it seems all the chips are made? I wasn't there on Friday so I can not personally attest to anything)

- SEM sample prep, which Calvin Offered to do thursday since he was the one who actually talked to Fred Hayes.

- Grinding/Polishing - which can't be done until the sample is dry

- Starting the Final Paper

The suggestion to postpone till Wednesday is that, Mike and Sen usually never go over past 6PM and class is scheduled till 7PM.

The things we can do before class is just organizing our samples to be brought on Friday. (The whole group does not need to be here to do this part)

The things we can do after class is discuss When Calvin will mount the samples and what possible times we can go to grind/polish and also discuss how to start the final paper.

Moving the above things one day would not be entirely detrimental to the progress of this project.

Things you have to add to the list:
-Poster

Also, we did not rush the assembling process. We spent extra time dealing and assembling the live chips. Please don't say we rushed it. I recall people agreeing to meet Sunday but that was only if it was necessary.
I would also like it if we didn't have to meet today. I'm pretty sure we can get everyone updated tomorrow before and after the meeting.

The process was rushed as we all had agreed to meet on Sunday then a few people took it on themselves to do the work we had all agreed to do on Sunday as a group. This is a group project as such the entire group needs to take part. This is the same reason we need to meet today. We all agreed as a group to meet on Tuesdays for the entire quarter. Not to keep switching at the last minute for a couple of the group members. We all have tests and things to do this does not mean we inconvenience the rest of the group because of it.

We agreed to meet on Sunday if our project didn't get finished by that Friday. Calvin, Oren, and Ethan found a way to make it work by the time I came back from my lunch break. I was in charge of putting the live assemblies so if it was "rushed" you can blame me. We will meet today at 5pm.

As I recall,

When we decided to meet up Friday morning it was with the intent to get all the samples prepped and shipped out by Friday for Agilent to have time to prep for us the thermal cycling nodes. I'm pretty sure this is what everyone thought.

Everyone did show up Friday morning, and no one said "Hey let's all stop doing this and wait till Sunday to get the job done" when Francois left and I left, for our own personal reasons.  What was said was "If we can't get it done today we will come back Sunday to finish it up".

In any case see you all later at 5.

I'm not trying to blame anyone. I personally asked everyone if they could and would meet on Sunday. Then an email was sent out telling people not to meet. Much like this one was telling people to not meet today. This needs to stop. If we all agree to do something it needs to happen. Not get changed at a later time unless everyone is involved in the change. Which did not happen.

I emailed on Friday after getting the confirmation emails of packages sent," do we need to do anything else requiring to come in on sunday".
You also sent out "Please respond as soon as possible if we do not need to meet on Sunday since I am canceling plans to meet. So if we don't need meet I can keep my plans."

The response was no we do not need to finish anything that would require coming in on Sunday.... thus we did not come Sunday.
