Hi everyone!

On the weekend of April 30th to May 2nd, a Live Action RolePlaying
game (LARP) called "The Morning After" will be run on the RPI campus.
The game is done in the theatrical style, and no LARPing or acting
experience is required or expected. People who have not LARPed before
are highly welcome and strongly encouraged to play! The game fits
about 25-30 players.

"The Morning After" is set in space on board a hyperspace cruiseliner.
Mankind has finally unlocked the secrets to faster-than-light travel
and built colonies throughout the galaxy. There is only one small
problem with traveling via hyperspace - those who do so find
themselves temporarily amnesic. Thankfully, this amnesia slowly fades
over the course of two days while the ship remains in transit. The
game is two days long; what a coincidence!

You have just woken up in a stateroom of a hyperspace cruiseliner. You
can't really remember anything about who you are, but you're pretty
sure this is normal. Of course, this will be a peaceful, sedate cruise
where nothing could possibly go horribly wrong. And, if something does
go awry, your highly trained crew will leap to the rescue! ... if they
remember how. Err, are you part of that crew? You can't seem to
remember...

Note that while you will receive some setting information before game,
you will not get a character sheet. That will instead arrive piece by
piece during the course of the game (some assembly required).

If you are interested in signing up and local to RPI, Sarah French
(khay...@gmail.com) and Nick Milano (mil...@rpi.edu) will have
casting questionnaires. Please return completed ones to either Sarah
French or Nick Milano. If you are not local to RPI, please contact me
at nyr...@gmail.com. We do have an electronic application, but we
prefer paper when possible. The deadline for applications is either
March 31st or when we have enough players to fill the game. Please get
them in to us soon!

If you have any questions, please contact me at nyr...@gmail.com and
I'll gladly answer them.

Please note that the game will run from 6pm on Friday until midnight,
from 10am on Saturday until midnight, and on Sunday from 10am until
6pm (followed immediately by the usual postgame exposition where we go
over plots and such, but note that we tend to talk a lot and our
postgames usually last 2-3 hours). You are not required to attend the
entire game, but we do expect you to be there for the majority of it
if you sign up.

"The Morning After" was written in 1990 by "Uncle" Don Ross and is
being run by Etherlines Tours. If you have to go, wouldn't you rather
go with Etherlines?

(I find TMA to be a really fun LARP (albeit rather different than
most) and I highly encourage you to sign up if you haven't yet
played!)
