Hey folks – I hope finals is treating everyone well and no one has gone insane yet!
I’d just like to start by thanking everyone for participating in LARPing, Magic, and Genericon events with Foam Brain Productions throughout the 2008-2009 season. This was another exciting year for us, including our 200th minigame, and our 10th weekend long LARP, and I’m glad so many people were able to join us for so much fun and happiness. I know there are a bunch of photos from spring things that need to be posted – expect those later this week.
I do have 2 announcements about upcoming things.
One – for those of you who haven’t heard, we’re running the fantastic weekend-long tales game “Tales of Pendragon” here at RPI next fall. Tales of Pendragon is more or less the canon work in this style of LARP. In it, you are both afforded opportunities to play your main character as he or she grapples with personal issues of some importance, and play a variety of characters in short minigames. The blurb is at the bottom of this email, and you can get the flyer at www.foambrain.com/downloads/pendragon.pdf. If you want to sign up for Pendragon, you can do so at http://pendragon.foambrain.com. As of writing this, Pendragon is already over halfway full, so you should sign up soon J
Two – as many of you know, next September will be the 5th anniversary of Foam Brain Productions. To commemorate this, we’re going to be offering shirts to our players for the first time ever. These shirts will be embroidered with the 5th anniversary design (which I’ll send out later this week) similar to the staff shirts, only in a color other than black (we haven’t decided between red or green – if you have an opinion, let me know). They’re 20 dollars each and you can either pay me this week, pay via paypal, or pay when we get the shirts in.
We’re not planning on ordering very many extras of these, and we’re planning on retiring the design as soon as we’re done, so if you want one, make sure to put in an order. We’ll definitely send out a reminder or two before the cutoff (mid-July or so, so that we can get them in time for the 5th Anniversary Party in the fall).
Third – for those of you who haven’t played it yet, I’m once again pleased to announce we will be running Mary Celeste this Fall, the weekend after the first week of classes. As usual, more information will be forthcoming as we get closer to it.
As always, if you have any questions, I am always available on AIM as WizOfAwz, Skype as Zrealm or email at Andrew@foambrain.com
