Hi all,
I
am pleased to announce that the php-based libAuthentication library has
reached the next milestone. Please note that this is mainly a
refactoring / bugfixing release.
libAuthentication
*******************
The library currently supports:
* Foaf+SSL native authentication
* Foaf+SSL delegated authentication
* Session-cookie based authentication
Stability
has improved as a result of the last few month's development. Although
it is now a collection of classes, we tried to keep it easy to use and
easy to get start with.
The quickest way to get start with you first libAuthentication powered site is to download the code from:
http://github.com/melvincarvalho/libAuthentication
and the README will provide you with further information on how to
setup a simple demo within minutes even on commodity web-hosting sites.
Foaf.me
**********
The very first real application using libAuthentication is http://foaf.me which we have also released just now. There are still number of open issues, but the site is considered to be stable.
You can easily setup your own instance on your own machine. Make sure you run apache2+php+mysql, get the code and enjoy.
Installation instructions:
https://www.assembla.com/spaces/foaf/wiki?id=foaf&wiki_id=Installation
You might also want to setup a domain name for your local instance using dynamic DNS provider such as dyndns.com (mine is foaf.selfip.org), as it is the only way to get the delegated Foaf+SSL authentication working on your local machine.
*********
We hope you find the library easy to use and
helpful to get you started with Foaf+SSL for you next php project. We
appreciate any feedback and will inform you about further releases.
Looks great. Thanks for updating the README.
I noticed there's a slight hit on performance when viewing a FOAF with the new library. Any idea why that might be?
Best wishes,
László Török
