An interesting bug report on a closed chrome bug.

[[
Does Chrome support import of client certicates with Signature
Algorithm:SHA1withRSA ?

I've tried this example (http://foaf.me/
simple_KEYGEN_CreateClientCertificate.php) -
it works correctly, but if I try my example I get alert 'the server
returned an
invalid client certificate'. With Firefox it works fine. I see only
one difference
between these certificates - in my example Signature Algorithm is
SHA1withRSA, in
example at foaf.me Signature Algorithm is MD5withRSA

Chrome version is 5.0.375.9 (win)

Could there be something in the cert creation code that is buggy?

Hi Henry,

thanks for reporting the issue. After accomplishing the migration to the new server, our next highest priority is to look at the cert generation. We plan some clean up and enhancement for handling multiple certificates. There is also a ticket (https://www.assembla.com/spaces/foaf/tickets/121-chg--investigate-foaf+ssl-support-in-google-chrome#last_comment) for investigating on Chrome, I took the liberty and added a pointer to this post.

Best wishes,

Laszlo
