What is New in new?

The old year has passed away
The New Year has ushered in
On the stroke of mid night
When the darkness is at its height

We booze and dance
To forget the old
We intend to march ahead
With old in cold

We booze and dance
To welcome the new
But alas! The new becomes old
Before we realize but for a few

Old is past- a memory
Merely a recollection
New is future – also a memory
A future anticipation

Old is an experience stored
Without experiencing its ‘Newness’
New is an experience to be stored
Without experiencing its ‘Newness’

No doubt the old goes and the new
Comes in the dead of the midnight
While we are asleep deep on the lap
Of dark ness of ignorance

Once a year we stay awake
To celebrate the advent of newness
But it gives us a slip taking advantage
Of our state of sleep-wakingness

Forget your past-
Your old dead memory
Forget your future-
Your newly to be dread memory

Then in that moment
Of no past and no future
You will suddenly wake up to the Real New which is magical in nature

This New is magical as it is eternal
This New is magical as it never dies
This New is ever new nothing to fear
This New is ever present with you –
So dear and so near

Magic of this New
Brings you out of your hypnotism
Wonder of this New
Wakes you out of somnambulism

Then you are awake in your sleep And snoring loudly while awake
Rejoicing in your eternal Newness Never to lose and never to again
find
