Apr 23rd Movie: Ghosts in our Machine

Hey everyone, it’s a busy month!

 

In addition to the bake sale, we’re also (through the Victoria Vegan Fest) co-sponsoring a screening of Ghosts in our Machine, a documentary that follows Jo-Anne McArthur, who’s a renowned vegan photo-journalist.

 

See the attached files for more info, the film is though Open Cinema, which screens at the Victoria Events Center (on Broad St), 7pm start, tickets are by donation ($10-20 recommended.) Afterwards, there’ll feature a discussion panel with Lesley Fox from the Fur Bearer Defenders, Maneesha Deckha from the UVic Law Dept and myself. =)  Again, that’s on April 23rd. Hope you’ll join us – note that there isn’t an excess of graphic material, although there will be some disturbing footage. The main topics covered are fur farms, lab animals and farm animals.
