Some
good news for Monday: Seed of Life is no longer selling seal oil
capsules!!
As
many of you know, we started a boycott of Seed of Life in April, 2011. The
former owner, despite numerous discussions and letters, would not stop selling
seal oil. These capsules are a product of the horrible seal slaughter on the
East Coast, and are banned in numerous countries for their cruelty, including
the US, Mexico and Europe.
Seed
of Life is living up to their name, and the new owner Peter has ended sales of
seal oil!
Friends
of Animals is happy to be ending the boycott. If you're in the area, please stop
in and ask for Peter, and tell him thank-you for this decision, and let's hope
he extends his compassion to all animals! I haven't been in there for years, so
will be keen to see what they have for sale.
As
far as we know, this was the last place in town selling seal oil, and we now
believe the city to be free of seal products (fur is the other main commodity).
Hope your day is a little brighter.
