Greetings, all who are interested in feeding the hungry with salvaged, otherwise-wasted good food!

Help us hand transfer PEACHES for the HUNGRY from large bins to smaller containers

on the Virginia Governor's DAY of GLEANING

THURSDAY, August 20 anytime between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM

[contact me if you want to help on another date; perhaps I can arrange an additional date]

Crown Orchard Packing Shed on Rt 29 NORTHbound side

about 15 miles SOUTH of the I-64 interchange

on Piedmont Apple Lane just off Lackey Lane

just south of the US Post Office located at 5912 Covesville Store Rd, Covesville VA 22931

children accompanied by an adult will have a great time, as well as teens and older adults!

attached is the Medical Info and Waiver of Liability form

each participant (and for those under 18, a parent/guardian) must sign

forms will also be available at the site

work will be outside, so bring water and sun protection,

and gloves if you prefer not to handle the peaches, some of which are squishy

attached also is a list of other gleaning opportunities in the Charlottesville area

please call or email me if you can come,

so I can tell the media how many gleaners we're expecting

but come anyway even if you have not contacted me!

With you for peace with justice for all,

Jim Hassmer
