Help us hand transfer PEACHES for the HUNGRY from large bins to smaller containers
on the Virginia Governor's DAY of GLEANING
THURSDAY, August 20 anytime between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM

Crown Orchard Packing Shed on Rt 29 NORTHbound side
about 15 miles SOUTH of the I-64 interchange
on Piedmont Apple Lane just off Lackey Lane
just south of the US Post Office located at 5912 Covesville Store Rd, Covesville VA 22931
children accompanied by an adult will have a great time, as well as teens and older adults!
attached is the Medical Info and Waiver of Liability form
each participant (and for those under 18, a parent/guardian) must sign
forms will also be available at the site
work will be outside, so bring water and sun protection,
and gloves if you prefer not to handle the peaches, some of which are squishy

Other Current gleaning opportunities in the Charlottesville area include:
1) Saturdays 11:45 am - 1:45 pm (or any portion thereof) -- Downtown Farmers Market, Charlottesville
2) weekday morning or afternoon -- Relay Foods (Carleton Ave) pick-up/distribution
3) Saturday 10:00 pm, Sunday afternoons, Mon 10:00 pm, Mon & Tues morning or afternoon,
occasional other times -- Whole Foods baked goods pick-up & distribution
4) in Sept/Oct/Nov we pick up windfall apples at various nearby orchards weekdays and weekends
whenever volunteers and orchard invitations are available

Always, volunteers may try it once, and then repeat anytime they wish.
