What does the law say about drones and lethal force?!!!!
Join two human rights experts for a discussion about the US government’s use of drones and the “rule book” for the use of lethal force that already exists: the Constitution, international human rights law and, in the exceptional circumstances where it applies, the law of armed conflict. We’ll also talk about the flawed idea for “kill courts,” the precedent the US government is setting for the world’s use of drones,
and actions we can take to reform US drone policy and help ensure that no person is wrongfully killed.
Where: Random Row Books, Charlottesville.
When: Wednesday, March 20, 7 pm.
With Zeke Johnson, Director of Amnesty International USA’s Security with Human Rights Campaign and Mason Clutter, National Security Counsel for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Sponsored by Charlottesville Amnesty International.
