COME ONE, COME ALL TO THE

GREEN GRANNIES FLASHMOB at CITY MARKET

This SATURDAY, to launch Charlottesville Earth Week festivities, we will meet at 10:30 AM in front of the Water Street Garage Grill area to organize with our green friends.  Wear your Green Granny t-shirts, big hats, and whatever else you can to look interesting!  (For other groups, wear your own t-shirts or GREEN tops.) Practice our song and come prepared to sing it through many times over:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2ifE1NKnig

We will gather, divide into two groups, and then, within earshot of each other, at 11 AM, Sharon will get the starting pitch (B below middle C).  Shawnee will begin singing slowly at first, “WEEE  NEEEED too o o o WAKE UP,” until we are all singing together.   We will begin marching ( 2 by 2, if possible) gesturing, and singing, entering the first row running parallel to the garage from both ends.  When we meet in the middle, we will form a circle singing towards each other, and marching in place.  After the first complete song (3 verses) we will turn around in our circle and sing to the crowd, inviting them to join us.

Friends and family members will pass out our song sheets to the crowd throughout this first part.  A sign with the words to the song will be held or placed prominently for market attendees to read.

We will do this as long as we can sustain attention, and finally, Shawnee will shake her tambourine a lot to signal that we are done.  Joanie’s son Dan will videotape us.  The Tv stations have been invited to film us, too.  Let’s DO THIS NOW!

TELL YOUR FRIENDS, BRING YOU FAMILY
