Forwarded message from Cecilia Becerra below. I
apologize if you've already received it, but wanted to make sure everyone saw
this. Thanks Cecilia for organizing a great clinic.

Hello everyone,I just wanted
to thank everyone for your dedicated service last saturday 30 April at
La Esperanza. There were about 200 people in all (mostly women &
children), Dr Patel saw about 50 of them and everyone went happy that day with
the valuable assistance they received even though it wasn´t much in our eyes but
it was a lot to them. Thanks to Melody & her group, all the patients who
needed meds either received them that day or were deferred to the Casa de los
Pobres to get them; most of the meds not used at the fair were donated to the
Casa so they could provide all our patients with the ones they were prescribed
in exchange, That worked out ok. Thank you for sacrificing your day,
improvising everything, withstanding the heat and the
dust as there were no facilities available to us as you are all used to at
your clinics. You made a big difference on those people´s lives and made
that day a very memorable one for all those kids living in such deplorable
conditions as you could all witness first hand. May God Bless
you. Cecilia

Great!! Can you please ask them if it's possible for
them to bring as many BP kits as possible? we need to check everyone's
BP (about 150 folks). Also, if anyone has any glucometers & strips
available or can get some that would be great because I also want to check
everyone's blood sugar. And one more request, if some of them can let us borrow
their home weight scales for that day.I have a poster I
created based on one of Dr Oz's shows that I think would be very beneficial to
these patients. It has to do with knowing " the 5 values that can save your
life":1-B.P2-weight3-waste measurement4-blood sugar5-cholesterol so I want to educate everyone on these 5
very important values that can prevent disease and save their lives and I want
to be able to give everyone at least 4 of those 5 values to take home
on that day and information on how to obtain the cholesterol value at a local
lab and how to ensure they maintain the normal values for those 5 things. So
this is what I need assistance with from the students. Thank you very much for your support and I
look forward to seeing you at the MacDonalds at 0800. Cecilia
