Dear all,

How is everybody? Still holding on to your master choices?
Via this mail I would like to update you on the status of the conference paper of our DSE project and the submission of it.

At the moment the International Astronautical Congress (http://www.iac2014.org/) is open for abstract submission of papers, deadline: 25th of February. Right now the question is on what field to participate:

- E2.3 Student Team Competition
- E2.4 Educational Pico and Nano Satellites

For the student team competition, most probably, someone of our team will have to be a representative at the conference. For the other option someone of the faculty can represent our team.

Now some practical information for potential IAC attendees. The IAC is held in Toronto, Canada from 29 Sept. to 3 Oct. The financial expenses of the trip etc. will most probably be for your own account (unless you can find funding somewhere of course)

I would like to know who is interested in representing our team at the IAC. If nobody is interested I will submit our abstract to the Educational Pica and Nano Satellites department.

Kind regards!

Marieke

Hey all,

The master is awesome! Just a little busy.
How is the rest doing?

I would not mind to present the paper at this point, unless it becomes too expensive.
However, I do not think it is a Student Team Competition, so in my opinion it would be better to put it in Educational Pico and Nano Satellites.

Also, I remember that the faculty has a budget of 500 euro's (per paper) to present a paper (not sure if this is (still) the case).
So this would cut the costs a little.

Gr,

Stacha

Hi guys,

Same here, I also hope to be working on an internship by then. Would be great to have it presented though! I agree with Stacha that based on the category names Educational satellites sounds more appropriate than student competitions, which in turns means that university staff can present if necessary. Stacha, aren't you already in California at that time? Flying within the US/Canada is not that expensive so maybe you can make it.
