Dear Flying Scot and Star boat CSA members,

At last night's CSA Race Committee meeting clarity was gained in the following topics:
1.  Any boat relying on handicapping scoring must race the same course (long course) in the same division in order to use the Portsmouth handicapping system for accurate scoring.
2.  US Sailing recently announced the first revision in the Portsmouth handicapping system in nearly 30 years. Hooray.
3.  The CSA miscellaneous fleet, for the purposes of PRO and whalers staffing for club racing, shall consist of San Juan 21s, 470s, Lightnings, Flying Scots, Star boats, Melges 20, Melges 15 & wind board participants.
       - In no way does this eliminate the individual fleet designations but for the planning and staffing needs of the club it is just a way to make sure each race weekend is properly staffed.

In 2025 our miscellaneous fleet is responsible for a total of 11 race days.  See the preliminary sign up sheet showing partial dates already requested from last night's meeting committing to  9 out of our 11 dates but with most dates lacking an identified PRO responsible for staffing.    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ubq3i36XxZyGytNRu4Z1hcu3MkLj3_eWZgHiIxUlUuw/edit?gid=1558706876#gid=1558706876

The major agenda item for the meeting this Sunday.is to select 2 more dates and identify individual PROs responsible for putting their RC team together for each duty date. Please attend this meeting on Sunday as we will need your involvement to fulfill our requirements.

There will also be an election for misc fleet captain as I have been filling in for the past 3 years in addition to my other Lightning Fleet duties to bring some order to the chaos resulting from decline of the distinct racing fleets into the miscellaneous monohull handicap racing fleet we now have..

Please see the invitation below (BYOB and a snack to share) and respond with RSVP directlly to our hosts Gerry and Susie Paoli at Gerr...@aol.com

Look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Matt Burridge

P.,S. Barry and Pete -  please forward to your other Star boat fleet guys, I can not find them in CSA's Club Spot membership roster. Thanks in advance. :)

cc: Eric Sutton - FS Fleet Captain
Cal Guthrie - San Juan 21 Fleet captain
