Hello future Flying Samaritans of SDSU,
For those of you that missed our first meeting, it was a success. I
am excited about the prospect of starting this new club and confident
that we can be successful with the set of motivated individuals that
were in attendance this evening. We discussed the tasks that we need
to get started to get this club past its infancy. I assigned teams to
complete these tasks. Those teams are as follows:
Fundraising Team: Ruth Aguilar (
ruthag...@hotmail.com), Abygail
Gumbayan, Elena Lenkova
This group will be responsible for thinking of ways to generating
income for the club and implementing them. GOAL: To have at least
one fundraiser before the start of school in late August, and ideas on
fundraisers we can do once school starts.
Contacting Professionals Team: Bryant Esquejo (
besq...@gmail.com) ,
Ruthie Tejada
This group will be responsible for contacting medical professionals,
getting them interested in the club and committed to volunteering.
This includes doctors, PAs, nurses, and EMTs. GOAL: To have a list of
10 to 15 health professionals (at least 5 doctors) by the time school
starts.
Club Recognition Team: Matthew Schrader
(
matthew.j...@gmail.com) , Andrew Woerner
This group will be responsible for getting the club recognized by the
school, writing the bylaws, and the future officer tasks and
responsibilities. GOAL: Finish it by the time school starts.
Miscellaneous Team: Luke Suder (
lsud...@gmail.com), Meg Almazan,
Angela Zakinova
This group is responsible for getting started on obtaining the
supplies on the the supplies list and the medications on the
medications list (I will send this out ASAP). This group is also
responsible for getting in contact with different pre-health clubs on
campus and asking them to inform their members about the club. GOAL:
Find as much on the lists as possible through donations and
connections (you guys may have to hook up with the Contacting
Professionals Team) and to have contacted all medically related clubs
on campus by the time school starts.
To those that missed the meeting, jump in on one of these teams and
get involved with the tasks that I have assigned them. I arbitrarily
assigned the people with emails after their names as team captains of
their respective teams. To find out more email them. Also, please
feel free to help out other teams with their tasks.
