Dear fellow fly dressers,
The January 2018 gathering of the NFDS will take place on TUESDAY 16th January 2018 at the Victoria Country Club starting at 19h00.
We have a very special guest presenting an interesting talk this month in the form of Barry Kent. In 1976 Barry established a fly tying plant at Butterworth in the Transkei. Many of the older folk will remember buying & using flies tied in Barry’s plant.
Barry is now resident in Florida, USA and has become an avid hunter of Redfish and his talk will revolve around this exciting aspect of fly fishing.
Barry is also one of the best Salmon fly tiers in the world and he has kindly donated a once-off framed & mounted NFFC Salmon fly to be auctioned at this years Fly Fishing and Fly tying Expo. This lovely item will be available at the meeting for all to see.
This meeting has been arranged in conjunction with our mother body, Natal Fly Fishers Club. Invitations have been extended to Durban Fly Tyers & The Fly Fishers Association and is open to anyone interested.
Come and join in the camaraderie & listen to a legend in the sport. This WILL be one of the highlights of 2018!
