About Peter Hayes

Peter, who resides in the premier fly fishing destination of Tasmania will be visiting South Africa in May , his visit  initiated by members of the South African teams that participated in the Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championship there last year, and whom were blown away with his eccentric and captivating style of instructing fly casting.  Peter brings an exciting and interesting dynamic to casting and is entertaining to watch through his different approach to teaching for all levels of experience, and he gives true meaning to what is sometimes described as "the Art of Fly Fishing".

But Peters main passion is teaching and making sure that anyone attending his workshop has taken something away with them... says Peter "I assure you there will be plenty of practical hands on teaching. It is the only way for you to learn. If you simply watch me then I am showing off. No one wins there."
The very great Lefty Kreh once told me ' Peter, don't ever display your skills, instead, teach them' . "I like that concept. That's how I work."

Peter himself is a former World casting Champion, silver team medalist in the Fly Fishing World Championships and is a Board of Governors Instructor and Examiner with the International Fly Fishing Federation (IFFF). Be sure not to miss him in SA!
