FLYFISHING SAFETY & A TASTE OF CURED TROUT

SHERWOOD BOWLING CLUB, THURSDAY 18 JANUARY AT 7.30 PM

Richard Lamble has fished in the Syechelles, the Maldives, Rocktail Bay, the Orange River and in trout dams all over the province. He has been washed off the rocks and has seen others washed off the rocks and certainly has enough experience to tell us about safety when flyfishing, not only when fishing the surf, but in all our fishing. Come hear his talk on Safety, it could save your life.

Laurence Davies has been wanting to cure trout for some time. He has written about the Gravadlax process, but has only once prepared it himself and that was a long time ago. He went this weekend to catch a “decent” sized trout, and to cure it so that he could give members a taste of cured trout, which he has been assured is like cold smoked trout. After all, smoked trout is cured trout that is hung in smoke for a while. So come along and try some cured trout.
