Dear Esteemed Researchers,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Chilaka Baburao, and I am from India. I am currently enrolled in a PhD program. However, as my lab is not yet fully established, I have limited guidance. I am therefore exploring opportunities to join a new research group or work under a different supervisor who can provide mentorship.
I am reaching out to ask if any professors or research groups are currently working on radiation biology using Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism—particularly in areas related to DNA repair mechanisms, adaptive response, and the evaluation of the Linear No-Threshold (LNT) theory.
Although I am relatively new to radiation biology, my interest has grown deeply during my PhD. Reading research articles has fascinated me, often leading me to the same unresolved questions that the field is still exploring, which motivates me to work toward answering them. Even with limited experience, I am highly motivated to expand my skills, contribute to ongoing projects, and push the boundaries of my understanding.
I have research experience in biochemical assays, molecular biology, microbiology, and tissue regeneration, along with strong hands-on skills in Drosophila handling and dissection. I also have one publication from my master’s work, where I developed a biomaterial-based transdermal patch. After joining my PhD and getting the opportunity to work in radiation biology, my interest grew tremendously—like a small spark turning into a big mountain. With proper guidance, I am eager to dedicate myself to this field and contribute something unique.
I would be grateful for any guidance, references, or contacts regarding research groups accepting prospective PhD students.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Chilaka Baburao
