Hi! I'm searching FlyBase for gene groups involved in different immune pathways. I'd like to download info for all genes within my list of gene groups. Is there a way to do this? Previously I was downloading within each gene group but I now have ~50 gene groups I'd like to do this for.

Thank you for the help!

Hi there

Can you expand a bit on what info you're wanting to download? Are you currently using the Batch Download tool to download info for genes in individual groups?

One option for you might be the following:
- From a Gene Group report, click on 'Export to HitList (above the member table)
- From the HitList, choose Export -> ID list (download)
- Repeat for each gene group of interest
- concatenate your downloaded ID lists into one list
- submit the concatenated list to  Batch Download

Alternatively, depending on what information you want, you could try starting with a list of candidate genes and use Batch Download to search in the gene groups download file.
- Submit your list of genes to Batch Download (using the ID validator tool first, if necessary)
- Choose Data source -> precomputed files -> Next
- Choose the 'Gene groups:gene_group_data' file
- click 'retrieve data'

If you have further questions, it would be better to reach out using the FlyBase contact form here: https://flybase.org/contact/email

best wishes
