The Myles laboratory at Texas A&M University is seeking a research technician for an NIH funded multi-year project focused on the study of new technologies for the mitigation and control of gene drives in a Drosophila model system. Duties will include designing synthetic DNA constructs; obtaining and analyzing transgenic insect strains; scoring patterns of heredity; and performing molecular analyses of integrated transgenes and gene expression. The successful applicant will support the research of post-doctoral researchers working on the project, as well as conduct their own independent studies. Preference will be given to individuals with previous laboratory experience with genetic model organisms, preferably Drosophila.
