Fuel Gauge spares?

Hi

Has anyone replaced the fuel gauge in their ARV?

If so, what did you replace it with?

VDO fits the same size hole, but it is unlikely that it will read correctly with the ARV sensor.

MGL FF-5 is 2.25" dia, which is too big, but can be calibrated.

The needle has gone fully anti-clockwise, it usually sits at zero with the power off.

About 40 ohms at full tank.

There are three terminals on the back and I guess it is magnetic gauge with two coils as it jumps up instantly to its reading and does not climb up slowly like a bi-metalic gauge.

The bezel is brass (painted black) and peaned over. So the gauge will be difficult to open, although it looks as if it may already have been opened before.

Any advice / stories / help gratefully received :)
