based on storms.

Tropical Storm Fay
ESF-15
Merrilee White said Fay activities are now coordinated at the JFO.
Cicero Hartsfield said they are coordinating with FEMA partners on
tele-registrations. Glades, Jefferson, Lake, Orange, Gaston, and
Baker counties scheduled for damage assessments for PA and IA
declarations. Based on info from tele-registrations there are new
areas being visited. Okeechobee DRC is set to close as are the two in
Hendry County. In Okeechobee County, they may close tomorrow. Leon
opened a DRC and had no visitors. Wakulla is still trying to identify
a location. Cicero sent out contact information for Community Response
teams, Volunteers needed to assist in getting information to disaster
survivors. Some spraying done for mosquitoes in Glades and Hendry with
Madison scheduled for Monday.

FEMA
Susan Zuber said total for IA is 9738. Eligibility rate is at 32%.
Total disbursed is $7,536,662. 710 applied for housing and rental
assistance.

Inspectors still going out with a one day turn around. They are
saying 2 visited the Leon County DRC. No report from ARC regarding
the shelter in Lee County, but there are now 425 in the shelter. That
is 150 families and 50 applied so far. There are people helping the
families to apply for FEMA. If anyone has numbers get them to Susan.

Deb Coleman is a FEMA VAL is at the JFO assisting Susan.

Jim Bentley said they are doing follow up with the Brevard Long Term
Recovery Coalition getting involved. Marcus said there is a list of
contacts for the DRCs and encouraged agencies to refer clients to the
DRCs for resources.

Kathy Broyard said they were able to get volunteers into Lee County
near the farm worker mobile homes. They are working with Catholic
Charities to help special needs cases. More volunteers needed in the
future. Merrilee said someone from Compassion Alliance is in the area
and can help. Susan Zuber asked if it was a part of the planned
caseworker’s meeting. Kathy said PDA does not do casework, but long-
term recovery.

Hurricane Ike
Merrilee White said the track has continued to move west. Still
anticipating FL will get tropical storm force winds. The track is
still fluctuating so they are watching. The state of FL is within the
five-day error cone. Florida is implementing parts of the
Catastrophic Pan. The voluntary agencies need to be aware that they
may be needed in impact areas as well as in areas where people are
evacuated.

Karen Hagen said they can find out about www.floridadisaster.org go to
EM community and there is information regarding the shelter status for
all storms. The site is public and does not have details about snacks
and meals. Can also see shelters on standby for Ike at the site. The
Florida Keys will be impacted and possible South Florida, so there are
a number of shelters on standby. Resources are on the ground for
sheltering (cots, etc). Watching to see where resources need to go.
FIU is open for special needs.

Susan Zuber said she is here for Tropical storm Fay and is not in on
planning meetings for Ike. She spoke with someone in her office
regarding issue of sheltering and showers if large groups of people
are evacuated north.

Ken Skalitzky said he is on his way to the SEOC tonight. Parts of the
Catastrophic Plan are activated at this point.

Marcus said there is a need to identify churches willing to serve as
distribution points for food. Call the ESF-6 desk in local counties
to work on the need if there is a church or facility interested.

Garvel Wike is working with the state and plans to have staging area
in Hialeah and Fort Lauderdale area, if Ike hits in south east
Florida.

Scott Lewis asked about getting handouts. Cicero sent out a list of
team leaders in IA counties and they have those resources.

Danielle Kearney said they have evacuees from Louisiana who need
resources to get home. She said they were giving out gas cards but
ran out. Marcus said Catholic Charities was giving out gas cards on a
case-by-case basis. Merrilee said if there are people in need to let
FEMA know when they call as there may be some assistance with
benefits. They need to call the FEMA number.

Ken said there is no federal assistance from FEMA for travel back home
since the state of LA did not apply for it. Transportation assistance
is not available at this time. The state would have to apply and
there is a cost share. This would need to be requested by the state
of Louisiana.

Merrilee said that in a catastrophic event churches would help with
food. She will work with Karen H to put together a list of what
churches will need to do to be eligible to serve as a distribution
point for food.

David Canther said they have two kitchens waiting one in Melbourne and
one in Orlando. He is coordinating with ESF-6.

Expect an email regarding the status of the FLVOAD quarterly meeting
scheduled for Monday in Sarasota. Decision will be made in an hour.

Griselle said they need tarps for Glades and Hendry. Susan said she
will check on that. Cicero said there are some at the State Logistics
Center, a request is needed from the county EOC through Constellation
for the quantity of tarps needed.
