Upcoming meetings - Florida VOAD

Two important meetings are happening in October.
(1) Emotional and Spiritual Care Committe - October 13 (Orlando)
(2) FLVOAD Fall Meeting - October 15 (Cocoa)

Here are the details on each meeting:

1. FLVOAD Emotional and Spiritual Care Committee
The Florida VOAD will hold a meeting of its Emotional and Spiritual
Care Committee on October 13, 2009, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Orange
County Sheriff's Department in Orlando.

The meeting will cover several important developments in emotional and
spiritual care. On the national level, you’ll hear about the newly
adopted National VOAD Points of Consensus for Emotional and Spiritual
Care by a member of the National VOAD Emotional and Spiritual Care
Committee. Likewise, you will also learn about the Florida Crisis
Consortium (FCC), the Florida Disaster Behavioral Health Plan, and
your possible involvement with the FCC. You will also have an
opportunity to learn about the wide variety of training opportunities
for emotional and spiritual care.

We will also spend some time grappling with questions that we need to
ask ourselves now:
• In view of what is now in place in Florida, what should be our top
priorities for providing emotional and spiritual care to our
citizens?
• What do we want emotional and spiritual care to look like in
Florida in three to five years?
