"publishing" to local folder

Is there no way to choose the dir path for publishing? Why can't i
choose what the "home site" is? I am either missing something, or it's
so simplistic (restrictive) it's stupid. I have cgi etc set up for
local testing, with the sites i'm working on in folders ie) sites/docs/
siteA, sites/docs/siteB and so on. So i THOUGHT i was setting it up
the only way flux seems to allow, however it will only write files to
the root level of the sites folder?

I want Flux to publish to the "siteA" folder, then to be able to type
localhost/siteA, or http://192.xxx.x.xxx/~user/Documents/siteA/ into a
browser. I really hope i'm missing something, and that it's not a case
where i'm only allowed to work on one site at a time. Help? FTP to
myself? Seems overly complicated for simple lack of being able to
choose a path.

Just develop your site in the siteA folder and then it's already there. Publishing is more for online use I think.

omg duh. Thanks! Do you want to come here and punch me in the head? I
never would have thought of that, because i'm so used to applications
using proprietary systems and forcing weird file-types.

Green, I'm pretty sure that the intent here was entirely benign. Determining another person's skill level is often hit-and-miss (and "green" is widely used as a synonym to "inexperienced"), so I suggest that you turn the other cheek instead of going apesh*t over someone's attempt to help you.
