Flutter support for Desktop (macoS, Windows, Linux) applications

Hi Flutter community,

We are planning to build a hybrid mobile application using Flutter and we hope that soon we will be able to port that to Desktop applications as well using the same codebase.

I know there is an ongoing effort to make Flutter compatible with Desktop app development but do we know how close the team is to making that happen?

No dates to announce yet, I'm afraid. Our roadmap is the published guide to what we're working on, but we aren't ready to make a commitment to a timescale.
