Hello,

Is any bazel support for flutter currently open sourced? If not, do plans exist?

Best,
Andy

We currently do not have support for this out of the box.

Can you say a little about how you would use this, and for which use cases?

Thanks Michael.

Our company uses bazel as our single build tool for a broad set of languages (go, c++, py, JS/closure, swift/iOS and java/android). We would like to start experimenting with flutter for a small mobile app. Bazel has experimental dart support and I was hoping that a set of skylark rules also existed for flutter (similar to the `flutter_application` rule mentioned here). Given the broad langauge support of bazel it makes flutter a somewhat less attractive option if we need to introduce another set of build tools outside bazel in order to use it.

Best,
Andy

Thanks for clarifying the use case, that makes a lot of sense.

We currently do not support bazel however, and it's somewhat complicated given we need to build multiple languages to create both "halves" of a Flutter app, so I'm afraid I cannot offer a timeline for when this might be supported.

No worries, thanks for the extra context Michael.
