Unable to run flutter on android emulator via android studio

I have been trying unsuccessfully to run a simple hello world type flutter app on an android emulator.

At this point i have updated to the latest android studio(4.1.2)

Updated to the latest flutter sdk(2.0.1)

Deleted my emulators and created a new one.

Made sure that my sdk is the same version as my emulators sdk (28).

flutter doctor doesn't show any issues.

When the emulator is running, the emulator shows up in the flutter doctor device list as.

• AOSP on IA Emulator (mobile) • emulator-5554 • android-x86    • Android 9 (API 28) (emulator)

At this point I am running out of things to try, and I was hoping I might get some suggestions here.

I am not quite sure, how, but the moment I posted this, The hello world app started working. I am not sure which of my attempts has helped here.

I can not tell you too because when creating an avd in android studio I do not have 'AOSP on IA' stuff :)
