Flutter app push notification with PHP server

Good day,

I am a beginner to this app development environment, i am trying out flutter which surprisingly easy to learn, i never see any "Push Notification" using a php server, everyone is using firebase in their examples.

Push notification for flutter app cannot be done in php server? if its possible please share the link to how to do it......
