My level 75 druid had his save files corrupted, as well as the shared stash save file. I had no power outages. I have no idea how or why this happened. I exit the game normally. I still have the save files. If the tech team would like my corrupted save files to help figure out what is happening, let me know. I can share them via onedrive.
The main cause of corruption in D2R (hard computer shutdown while D2R is open; whether that be from a forced shutdown, power outage, etc.) will cause your currently loaded character to corrupt along with the relevant (softcore/hardcore) shared stash.
Hello, I did read that d2r has cross progression. Is it possible to use my old character files from offline singleplayer from my pc on my playstation? I mean can I transfer them? They said that it has cross save, so would it be possible to transfer my old offline singleplayer chars to the playstation?
Ok so the only way to make cross progression possible, is by creating a character online. By saying online do you mean ladder and non ladder? Or is there an online mode separated from ladder and non ladder where I can use cross progression?
Select the character save file (.d2s), commonly found under C:\Users\(your user name)\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected. The character save files consist of a .d2s, .map, .key, and .ctl file, which all share the same name. You can either edit and overwrite the .d2s file or replace it with another one.
It is not recommend to transfer players or items between single- and multiplayer, or from other mods. It is possible, if you go tricky about it, but it will cause unstable game play. Don't bother posting any bug reports if you do anyway.
In case you are worried of losing your character due to crashes or other computer problems, the easiest way to back up your character is to simply copy the save files to a safe place (a USB pen for example). To restore it later, you simply copy the save file back to the proper folder.
The original Diablo went into great length to prevent any modification to the multiplayer save file. In The Hell a lot of improvement have been done to make it easier to move multiplayer save files between computers and to make backups of them. If you use an old version of The Hell there are some things you should be aware of:
The location of the multiplayer save files was moved from the Windows dir to the game dir. This made it easier to find the save files and remember to make backups of them, if the PC was reinstalled. It also made it possible to play the game without administrator rights. This however means that if you are upgrading from a version before 1.80h, then you have to move your multiplayer save files from the Windows dir to the game dir.
The computer name restriction was removed, so it is possible to move the multiplayer save files between computers with different names. This however have the side effect that you can not use a multiplayer charater in a version before 1.82d, if you have used it in version 1.82d or greater.
The hidden and system attribute was removed from the multiplayer save files and thereby made them viewable with Windows default settings. If you are using a version before 1.82d, then you can see the files by enabling show hidden files and disabling Hide protected operating system files in the Windows file manager, or you can use the guide below.
Diablo: The Hell is a free modification of Diablo: Hellfire. It features many minor improvements and bug fixes, which combined greatly enhances the players experience over the original game. If you are thinking about replaying the original Diablo, try Diablo: The Hell instead. Start by reading the getting started guide.
I have got PvPGN working, at least on an Open realm. I am trying to run a Closed Realm but I keep getting an error when trying to create a character- the game is telling me that a character with name xyz already exists on the server (even though it doesn't). I have tried moving the entire directory to a different hard drive (figured maybe it was an issue with permissions) but that didn't change anything.
Anybody else have this issue? Any ideas? Everything is connecting like it should, but D2CS won't find the newbie save files (because they're nowhere to be found)
Meanski- I checked my bnetd.conf and fixed the directory structures, as well as moving /files to /var/files as per the directory structure. This fixed the character creation issue BUT still left me at the same point as before- I'm still getting hung up at game creation.
Ok. I will reinstall D2GS with the default password. I am having issues connecting via telnet because it keeps saying the password is wrong. I have changed it several times to no avail.
I have the correct IP addresses in the .reg file and everything else checks out.
You can play your original Diablo II (2000) offline single-player characters on the Diablo II: Resurrected client by manually copying over the character save files from the Diablo II (2000) folder to the Diablo II: Resurrected folder. To do this:
Hello.
As a lot of offline D2R players, i lost a high level character, my time, my items and all my shared stash, this issue is related to corrupted files from your character and shared stash that comes from crashes and wrongs file management from the game.
I found 2 ways to recovery/clone/copy your character:
I seem to remember the character save files being really easy to find in Fallen Angel, but I can't seem to find them in Gold. I need to uninstall the game and would prefer not to lose my characters. Any help would be appreciated.
The file you're looking for is "C:\Users\"user name"\Saved Games\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2" replace "user name" with your login name. This is in win 7. So when you uninstall it should not delete user data, unless you tell it to do so, but I would make a backup just in case.

No PS Plus is required to have multiple saves, it only adds convenience and an additional save. Up to 2 USB sticks (PS4 has 2 USB ports) if you have a multiple USB port you can totally use that to increase the number of saves you can have (that will be 1 save for 1 USB stick). I personally need 2 saves, so what I do is use 1 USB stick and PS Plus online storage.
Make a second profile on your PS4 to use with Conan. Then you can have two characters easily enough. The PS4 retains your saves, you never have to worry about messing up a save or overwriting accidentally.
What this means is that players of the original Diablo II will be able to pick right back up where they left off, possibly many years earlier, assuming of course they still have their old saved game files intact.
Diablo II: Resurrected is scheduled to arrive sometime later this year with support for 4K graphics, 7.1 surround sound and a wealth of other quality-of-life improvements. Interested parties can pre-order it now for $39.99 or sign up to participate in a technical alpha test.
At least, not all of them. I haven't played this game in several months time, and so when I came back to play it, what to my surprise, none of my save files are there. A little disgruntled, I started up a new character real quick to see if those saves would appear. They do. So I went through into Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves, and all of my old save files are there, along with the one from the character I just made. So all of the saves are in the right place, and yet Skyrim still only detects the new save files.
EDIT: So I deleted the new saves from the directory, however Skyrim will still detect and play them no issues. The only think that I could think of is that the saves are being detected from a different directory, however I can't fathom why or where it would be.
I'm guessing Budah's comments were directed toward the previous post having offered advice in the event your game was pirated, and not directly at you. To find where your saves are, did you run windows explorer and search for "skyrim" or "saves" to find out if any folders of that name exist in some other directory? (I'm stumped why you wouldn't have 'em in the usual place. That's very strange.)
Skyrim doesn't play as full screen and resets all the option I try to save as defaults. It resets graphics each time i log in. Fortunately before the last update i took saved game files as a backup prior to installing the HD texture pack since the update it doesn't recognise any saved games as there is no load option on the launcher.
I've been away working for 6 weeks, so have not touched Skyrim on my desktop (main). However, while away I did play on my laptop - all the saves appear in the load menu on my laptop, but NONE appear on the load menu on my desktop since my return!!!
Steam cloud saves cause a lot of problems with Skyrim disable it on the desktop and the problem should disappear; If your saves are still missing copy the ones on the laptop and move them in Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves and leave steam cloud disabled
I don't know if duping is possible online -- this method only works for offline characters. It's useful in particular for duping runes and gems, so that you can make runewords like Enigma armor. You can also dupe gold with this method (and if you're lucky enough to find a Stone of Jordan, you could dupe that too).
- Put whatever you want to dupe in your private stash. Back up your save files on USB or PS+ cloud.
- Copy the items from your private stash to your shared stash. Save and quit.
- Download/restore your character's save file, but NOT your shared stash save file. Now you will have the items in your private stash *and* in your shared stash.
It's much more complicated to item dupe on PS5, since you can't back up individual pieces of your save file -- the shared stash is bundled in the same file as your characters, so you can't back up and restore just one of them or the other. Fortunately, there is another method that works based on the shared stash currently being buggy. First, a couple words of warning:
- The shared stash is *really* glitchy in offline games. Backup your save files often and *be careful*. Keep extra copies of important items in your private stash (which is not buggy) in case you screw up and accidentally glitch your shared stash.
