Marketing Director for The Flurry Festival of Traditional Dancing and Music
Roles and Responsibilities
The Marketing Director for the Flurry Festival works directly with the Administrative, Finance and Program Director to fulfill all marketing and public relations activities related to promoting and executing a culturally and financially successful festival.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Developing a press kit for each festival year
- Overseeing design - working with graphic designer and web master on printed materials and web design
- Working with Administrative Assistant on program book related materials
- Managing media buys - Radio, TV and Print
- Promoting TV and radio interviews/stories with local outlets
- Overseeing social media outlets of the Festival (ie Facebook, etc)
- Outreach to colleges, schools, dance studios
- Organizing special fundraising events
Timeframe
Marketing for the Flurry Festival is expected to be part-time work spanning the course of the year, with the majority of the work taking place in the months preceding the festival. Average time commitment is expected to be 200-250 hours per festival year.
Compensation
$5,000 annually, divided into $500 “retainer” payments distributed over the course of 10 months before and after the festival.
