Cover art in itunes after fluke import

To the team,

I recently managed to add cover art, temporarily, to flac files in iTunes.

I had imported and converted a cd to flac using XLD [Version 20131102 (145.0)]. When in the iTunes music listing I highlighted all the files just imported and clicked update all metadata. I then ticked the artwork section. After a small delay the album cover did appear in iTunes. I did not remain however after a restart of iTunes.

Is there any intent to add this functionality for those that don't have, or don't want an iTunes account?

I should add the following: Mac OS X 10.6.8, iTunes 9.2.1 (5), fluke 0.2.5.
