Dear Fluids Education Community
I am celebrating 8 months of retirement, and it's time for me to pass the ownership of this Google Group on to somebody who would like to make something more of it. We are currently at 235 members. Please let me know if you are interested!
And while I'm at it, I'll let you all know that my Guidebook to Flow Visualization is an open access resource on
Flowvis.org. It's expanded from the lectures of my Flow Visualization course here at CU Boulder. And the course itself has been successfully transferred to
Prof. Laura Sunberg, also here at CU Boulder. Comments welcome!
Developing that course has been a big highlight of my career. Having students publish their flow visualization work openly on the web is very powerful for teaching and learning, and is now known as Open Pedagogy. I found out I was doing Open Pedagogy before
it was recognized as a valid approach. Here's a recent book chapter describing what open pedagogy is in the Flow Vis context:
Thank you, dear colleagues, for brightening many a DFD meeting.
Warm regards
