Dear colleagues,
Happy DFD abstract submission month! On behalf of the Diversity and Inclusion committee, I invite you to submit to Track #41 (Education, Outreach, and Diversity). In recent years, this has become a permanent topic rather than a special/focus session. Last year, this track had 43 talks across 2 sessions. We encourage you to submit your recent work in these areas, broadly defined, in the interest of sharing best practices and novel ideas across the fluids community.
Additionally, given the current federal climate, we are especially hoping to hear from those who have engaged with challenges related to recent executive orders, changing university policies, and other issues. Have you changed (or reinforced) your approach to inclusion? Have you overcome obstacles creatively? Have you found collaboration and support in unexpected places? We are interested in your perspective! We will attempt to cluster talks around this theme so that those interested can have focused space for discussion.
Now as ever, we feel that it is important to communicate among the DFD about how to make our community more supportive and welcoming to all of its members. Please consider submitting to Track #41 by the deadline of July 25, and we look forward to seeing you in November!
Sincerely,
Margaret
(chair, Diversity and Inclusion Committee)
P.S. Apologies for any cross-posting!
