Hi folks.
We are trying to expand the Flow Visualization course here at CU Boulder (http://flowvis.org) and I am writing a proposal for additional resources. Students take amazing images and videos of gases and liquids in setups that they invent, but they don’t understand the fluid mechanics; they need experts to give them keywords and a bit about the physics that they can take and explore from; a jumpstart. It’s really fun! I can handle 40 students but we need more experts to expand the class size. This would be a specific time commitment during live critique sessions, a total of 18 fifty minute sessions spread across the semester, all via Zoom, so it could be anybody anywhere that the schedule works for. This fall semester it’s 12:20 to 1:10 pm , Mountain time, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The critiques for each of the six assignments take three sequential sessions, i.e. a MWF during class in a given week. What would be an appropriate honorarium to offer for such assistance? I’d like to have the same one or two folks all semester, but a per-assignment arrangement could work. Two of the assignments are atmospheric clouds, which could use that specific expertise.
Your estimate will be appreciated. Let me know if you have any questions.
