Gmail fluidapp opens chrome when I try to login

As the subject suggests. Put in my username + pass, click "sign in"
and it sends me to a manage account login at google on chrome.

This is a new behavior, I have changed nothing that I know about on my
system since the last time I successfully logged in via the fluidapp.

Logging in through chrome works fine.

Yes, Google recently changed their site. You'll probably need to add:

*accounts.google.com* to:

Preferences > Whitelist
