FluentMigrator with Sql CE 3.5

Hi, I am trying to use FluentMigrator with a Sql CE database built in Sql CE 3.5.  I get the following exception thrown when I attempt to run a migration:

"System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeInvalidDatabaseFormatException:  The database file has been created by an earlier version of SQL Server Compact.  Please upgrade using SqlCeEngine.Upgrade() method."

 

I don't want to upgrade the .sdf file to a Sql CE 4.0 database because I'm concerned about incompatibility with our application (don't know if it'll present issues - but we're pressed for time and convincing the rest of the team may be an issue in itself).  I really would like to use FluentMigrator moving forward and was hoping that there is something I am just overlooking.  Anyone have any advice (is there a way to use FluentMigrator with a Sql CE 3.5 DB)???  <- Would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi

Im using fluent migrator with sql ce 3.5 successfully. If I remember correctly all I had to do was to switch the .net assemblies to 3.5 assemblies. At the time there were no 4.0 specific features in fluent so all worked fine. If you go back in the forum to jan 2013, you will find a thread that I started about sql ce 3.5.
