You can now import, add, edit and remove OWL annotations with Fluent Editor.
We currently support annotations on Entities (concepts, roles, instances) and are working for implementing annotations on the whole statements.
To test this functionality, just open the latest release of Fluent Editor (you can download it from here) and open the Book Reference template. This template is an example of how References are imported from external sources (in this case bibtext.owl). To see how this is working, you have two ways:
  • click on one of the concepts from the reference (e.g. book[bibtex]) and then click in the annotation panel (left part of Fluent Editor).
  • right click in the concept in the taxonomy tree and select the Show Annotation button.
Both of this actions will show you the annotations associated to this particular entity.
You can then add new annotations by writing in the text box the annotation type that you want to add (most of the standard annotations type (e.g. skos, rdfs, dcterms,...) are already loaded).

Are OWL annotations *on* other OWL annotations suppported?

I have been trying to import the attached ontology - it has one class, with one annotation, and annotation on the annotation.

The import is apparently "successful" - no error message or anything - but nothing gets loaded

Has anyone tried or experienced the same issue?

Thank you in advance!
Davide

I am using FluentEditor 2015 v. 3.6.5.23734 on a Windows10 machine

(the reason I am asking is, I'm trying to load a third party ontology that does have meta-annotations :)
