Eduardo,

Interesting. Are you using fluentd with CloudFoundry? If so, how?

Thanks -K

Hi Kazuki,

We are working in a joint architecture cloud with OpenStack + CloudFoundry.

We are using Fluentd to collect all the platform events related to security and availability:

 - Syslog -> Fluentd -> Graylog
 - Ossim (SIEM) -> Fluentd -> CEP (Complex Event Processing)
 - RabbitMQ -> Fluentd -> CEP
 - NATS -> Fluentd -> CEP

The CEP framework is a custom development that obtains the fluentd events in a normalized format, granting the correlation of events in real time.

We are evaluating fnordmetric as the real time visualizer of all data, also have developed a plugin for a POC (https://github.com/achied/fluent-plugin-fnordmetric).
We guarantee the availability of the service (security and availability) by monitoring the platform events.

We are deploying IAAS templates with fluentd agent to report against the management platform. We have planned to repeat the same level of integration with the PAAS applications shortly. We are closely following an interesting contribution to this thread:

Thank you for your interest,

Best Regards.

There is an active thread in vcap-dev group talking about Cloud Foundry Log Formats:

And a really interesting contribution from @yssk22 in steno project:
