How to benchmark fluentd performance?

Hi,

I've seen different performance numbers mentioned in the documentation for a "PC box"; but it's not clear what kind of hardware configuration was used. We're going to run fluentd on AWS so I was wondering:

1. Has anyone done benchmark of fluentd on AWS (with different instance sizes) before and can share the numbers? I've tried searching in the group, but didn't come up with anything.

2. Is there a suggested way to simulate load?

Hi Arik,

AFAIK, there is no benchmark on AWS.

We know this is a problem, so we will try some benchmarks using AWS EC2 with 

different instance, configuration, workload and etc.

After that, we will push the result, script and dataset to this repository.

Currently, we are now discussing the benchmark setup with heavy fluentd users.
