Hi everyone. We have been asked about changes in access procedures at FluencyBank (and all TalkBank resources).
We are now trying to track access, even to open access data, by individual user accounts. Thus, if you try to access ANY FluencyBank resources (whether password protected or open access), you will be asked to set up a FREE, individual account on TalkBank. This will enable you to use open access resources just as before. If you need authorization/reauthorization to use PASSWORD protected resources, you must request access/reauthorization ONCE by writing to either me or Brian MacWhinney (or cc to include the two of us).
As a reminder, for teaching, people should be using open access Voices Project samples, not password protected research samples.
If you have any questions, please feel free to write me,
and,
as always, we'd love to discuss possible preservation of your data at FluencyBank or discuss how you can maximize its value to your research lab by making it TalkBank compatible if it currently is not.
Kindest regards,
Nan
