We are teachers using Google Forms for Tests and Quizzes in a GAFE domain.  We use Flubaroo script to score them, so we send their score results via email using Flubaroo; as a result, we need to select "Automatically Collect Respondents User Name". Because of the collection of user names, Google Forms automatically asks students at the end of the form if they would like to have Google "Send Me a Copy of My Responses".  If a student checks this box, the entire form (a Test or Quiz) complete with questions and answers are emailed to them.  The student then has the ability to send that test or quiz via email to as many students as they want, giving everyone access to the test before class-- definitely a problem.

As teachers, we would like to request the removal of the "Send Me a Copy..." button, while still being able to automatically collect user names, for testing purposes.  It should be an option to select at the bottom of the form, with the other options (allow respondents to edit, publish, etc.).

The thread has been running since September, perhaps your team will be able to stress the need of disabling this feature, as educators it is necessary to have both your emailing grades feature while maintaining the integrity of the test.
Thanks for your help with this!

I was wondering the same thing?  Did this get resolved?

I don't have a GAFE account but I think I understand your question.

The next comment in the forum you shared has a solution.

I think I found a solution as I have had this problem as well...using google forms for quizzes and flubaroo to grade.   So don't automatically collect the username at the top.  Make a question on the quiz a text question and title it: email address.  The students must manually enter their email address.  In my school we give all students email addresses which uses their names in it so it's obvious which student it is.  This magically takes away the option to "send me a copy of my responeses."  When you grade on flubaroo, instead of valuing the email address question as a point, choose identifies student.  You will be able to email the students using that question (which it automatically identifies.  Just don't send any of the questions and answers that they offer you to check off when emailing it.  You will only email the grade then.  Just tested this out on myself and it worked.  Hope this helps everyone!

I'll be happy to raise this issue with the Forms Product Manager at Google. Can't promise anything though.

You have a great solution-thank you!  I do wish that google would fix this so that teachers could be in charge of this, but your solution is a helpful one in the meantime!

Did you ever find a fix for this other than not using "Automatically Collect Respondents User Name?"

PLEASE FIX THE AUTO "SEND ME A COPY OF MY RESPONSES" FEATURE FROM GAFE DOMAINS USERS.  This makes this useless for giving exams in all GAFE schools.  Unchecking the "automatically collect username" feature only leads to other problems where students (kids) inevitably incorrectly mistype their usernames, and thus the email responses, and import scores features would not work as I use their username as unique identifiers when importing scores.

We know this has been an issue for a few years now.  Can Google Forms staff please make this "Send me my responses" a checkable option, not default.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.  Our district is shutting down on using FORMS because of this.

I'm sorry about your problems.  This is the Flubaroo forum and I think you need to take this topic up with the Google Forms folks.

Are the students prevented from using the Print function in the browser?  If not, they can print a copy of the Form and save it to their Google Drive.

Unless the quiz is broken into lots of sections, I find it very easy to Print a copy of the Form.  Maybe the folks making this decision are over-reacting to a problem that can only be partially fixed with the change to Forms.

You could have the questions be Q1, Q2 etc and project the real question on a screen so the full questions are never shared in digital form but that has a lot of problems also.

I have never been a teacher but have been a part of this forum for a couple of years.  I have yet to discover a full proof method to prevent cheating.

I suspect some students do a search for the correct answer.  There should be few spelling errors with the help of spelllll checkkker.

I hope your district can find an acceptable solution.  Please share the solution if there is one.
