I am ready to port my project from linux mint to windows 11. README.Windows.txt contains disclaimers that discourage me from following directions there. Are there other guides to help me through this?

Hi David,

If you read README.CMake.txt there are instructions for building FLTK with various Windows flows using CMake. I have successfully managed to build FLTK and use it within my project using CMake under MSVC.

Regards  Phil.

What exactly in the text is discoursing to you? I will happily update what I can to make this easier. Running on all desktop platforms is one of the main reasons to use FLTK, so compiling must be easy on every platform. ;-)

If you use CMake, recompiling for Windows is very straight forward IMHO.

I think it was the line
***   CAUTION: This file is outdated. This needs a major rework!   ***
and the lines
The information in this chapter is NO LONGER RECOMMENDED by the FLTK team.
But I overreacted.

Part of my difficulties is unfamiliarity with Windows having not used it 20 or so years.
