Hello All,

A query to you more knowledgeable folks. Pinching out seems to be a debateable point - but I can see from some our flowers which ones need pinching out.
Bupleurum - it looks as if it shouldn't be.
Stocks and Larkspur I can't tell.

Any comments gratefully received!

Nicola

Hi Nicola, well pinching out of buple not sure, I've just harvested 100 stems for local florist this morning - a couple of the plants had obviously 'gone over' so picked what I could but have to say first year of growing buple but didn't get the urge to pinch it out - how big are yours ?  Mine were sown in autumn and planted out in spring this year and are about 1 mtr high.  Stocks were pinched out a couple of weeks' ago and not growing larkspur.

Thanks a lot Carol.  100 stems wow!  Ours are spring sown and 12 - 15 inches high (will sow this autumn...  seems like late summer/ autumn sowing a good idea  if you have plants 1m high - what a learning curve) Thanks for answering.  Will pinch out stocks!

Best wishes
Nicola
